Magnesium for migraines

Migraine type of headache is somewhat common. More often than not, it can be an incapacitating disorder which is characterized by severe attacks of headache. It is accompanied by symptoms such as increased sensitivity to light and sound, nausea and vomiting.  About one third of its sufferers experience an aura. It is a sensory disturbance that indicates the onset of migraine.

There are some natural herbs and minerals which are proven to be effective in reducing both the frequency and effect of migraine headache.  In medical studies, one of the most promising supplements is magnesium.

Prevention of Magnesium Deficiency by Changing your Diet

Not all of us favor the idea of supplementation. Fortunately, it is simple to change your diet in ways which will be helpful in preventing magnesium deficiency.

In your weekly menu plan, you can add plenty of nuts, whole grains, beans and dark green vegetables.  Avoid drinking soft drinks and coffee. Drink a lot of unfiltered hard water instead.
